Today - Saturday 7th July 2018 - was a very important date in my life. It was the day when my fiancee Wanna arrived from Thailand to spend several months in my company. The importance of this event cannot be overemphasised. Anyone who reads my articles on this website or others will know that I have been alone for most of my life, and I do not wish that state of affairs to continue. Now we will find out if it will or not. I have of course made several visits to Thailand to visit Wanna since we first corresponded on the Internet, and on Valentines Day 2017, the relationship between us had developed to the point where I could offer her a ring of engagement. She accepted it. At that time, however, the engagement was only a sign of commitment. I felt - and she agreed - that before we took it further and made it legally binding, it was important she should visit me in England. We are both realists and we both recognise the many difficulties we may face in trying to live together - social, cultural, and language differences among others. It is important that she should know what it would really be like to live full time with me in England, rather than just two or three weeks in a Thai holiday hotel.
Anyway, today was the day she finally came on a six month visa, and I met her at Heathrow Airport in the morning. Today was the first day of an experience together which I hope will change my life and hers for the better.
The relevance of this for my posts here is that unfortunately few posts will be published during her time in England. Writing web pages and blogs will not be foremost in my list of priorities, and nor would making public all details about our time together.
